Introduction to Rock Climbing

This course is designed to be an introduction to rock climbing.  It will cover safety aspects of climing and bouldering, climbing movement(s) and some of the gear and  equipment associated with the sport.  The course will begin at the Gore High School bouldering wall.  The participants will either travel to Invercargill (indoor climbing wall) or to Jardine’s Boulders, twenty minutes south of Queenstown (outdoor option), on the Saturday.

Course Objectives:

  1. To learn the safety aspects involved with rock climbing.
  2. To learn how to move on rock efficiently and effectively.
