Junior Graduation Programme

Gore High School has a two-year graduating school for Year 9 and 10 students.  It has its foundation with four important features.

  • To focus teaching and learning on the essential skills that are needed before a student learns content.
  • To actively and positively involve parents/caregivers in the teaching and learning of students.
  • To provide teachers with a tool to enhance/improve student learning.
  • Improve motivation and attitude to learning.
  • To enhance student learning so that they have the basic essential skills to enable them to be positive and successful learners at every level of their secondary school education

A ‘Contract of Learning' between parents, students and the school.  The focus of this contract is on the student

In 2003, our Junior Graduation Programme results show 72% of the Year 9 students getting distinction, which is achieving 75-94% in the programme.  Seven students attended summer school, where they can potentially pass. There were 4 gold awards.
