Gore High School's Special Character

Gore High School is a special place.

It is the largest secondary school in Eastern Southland and offers the widest range of subjects.

The school historically is based on Christian values, established when the school was founded. We respect our students’ dignity and expect them to develop and grow, always giving of their best. 

Our values are honesty, responsibility, respect, concern for others and courtesy. 

Our aim is to educate our young people to become purposeful and successful citizens in contributing to society and pursuing their passions.

Research carried out each year around the attitude of our Y9 students indicates that students find our staff friendly and approachable. Staff build superb teaching relationships with students. Good learning is built on good relationships. Students always want to know that you care before they care what you know.
